Churn, intimidation and engagement are three pressing challenges for fitness facilities.
According to IHRSA, 50% of members leave each year.
According to a PureGym, 60% of gym goers experience gym intimidation.
According to Exercise.com, 60% of memberships are unused.
Existing solutions to increase member retention such as group classes, member interactions, events, social media engagement and challenges are effective but can be augmented using technology.
Our solution uses data to match members within small peer groups of 2 – 4 people with similar goals, abilities and interests. It gives them an online platform to schedule workouts/group classes together, track their progress together to increase accountability, share resources and split the cost of a trainer. Our hypothesis is making fitness social, increasing accountability, making trainers more affordable and leveraging data/automation is how to attract and retain the circa 2,500,000 adults who are due to enter the fitness industry by 2030 (UK Gov, GetActive Strategy).
