LA architects is a specialist public projects architectural practice, delivering leisure, arts and civic projects. Employing a flexible and dynamic approach to the design of both new build and refurbishment projects, we provide humane, lively and highly successful buildings, which add value to the communities they serve. We do not believe that the buildings and designs of the last twenty years have delivered to the real needs of the public and it is time for that to change. Through our work and our R and D programmes, working with bodies within and outside the UK we are changing the nature of public facilities. Overseeing large public contracts and small individual projects alike we provide long term, sustainable solutions that enhance all aspects of physical, mental and social health and wellbeing. We understand and deliver architecture that is more than the look of the building. Each project is specifically designed for the needs of the users and the wider environment and does not follow the standard approach and technical guidance. We rethink the box. Since the practice was formed in 1992, we have designed on over 30 leisure centre projects, including PFI, PPP and DBOM, on sites across the length and breadth of the UK. This specialisation and experience has built an strong expertise within the practice and our team and across many sectors and markets. Our ability to deliver on time and to strict budgets has been built over many years’ experience of collaborative working on complex building projects and with diverse teams, developing consistent methods of working, which are under continual review and improvement.
